Beliefs and behaviour in the approach of substance abuse treatment
Drug use is a social problem of national and international interest. The extent and social severity of this phenomenon, determined at the international level a series of measures aimed to contribute at knowledge, explaining and managing the drug problem. Assigning to the explanatory models, the role of research paradigms, in this workshop we aim to answer some questions about the most effective models, namely the possibility of developing new ones which value existing knowledge and results, and in in the way to become an important resource for collaboration between academics and practitioners. The current policy at national and international level is to strengthen the role of prevention, this activity assuming a substantial financial effort below that the ones allocated to treatment and control. Presentation of diagnosis on the current state of knowledge in the field of drug use and limits of theoretical and methodological advances in this area of scientific knowledge, are some of the challenges that we propose in this workshop.

-Integrated assistance values concerning drugs addicted people and co-dependents.

Mihaela Alida Tomita, has a Ph.D. in Sociology and currently works as an associate professor at the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Sociology and Psychology from West University of Timisoara (Romania). She graduated the Faculty of Law with specialization in Judicial Psychology. She also leads Timisoara Regional Office from National Antidrug Agency. Her professional, academic and scientific activity is closely related to the promotion of the alternative sanctions in the criminal justice system. Author and coauthor of several books and articles on the field, she coordinates and participates in research and intervention projects with budgetary and extra-budgetary funding.
